My mom didn't let me wear makeup in middle school (still not sure why), but once I was in high school I was able to explore it more. I wasn't always very good at it, but it gave me so much creative freedom and it was a harmless outlet for self expression. Part journal, part plan, part holding myself accountable moving forward. This post is probably gonna be a little weird. makeup/makeup removal products (anything that is part of my morning makeup routine or evening. Some people limit this to makeup items only others include haircare and whatever else.
The basic rule is: 10 products out, 1 new product in. I made my own personal rules to help keep it fun and motivating based on my own quirks, and I've since adapted this kind of "credit" system to other problem areas in my life (video games, namely) and it's really helped me get a handle on my spending! I read about something called "Project 10 Pan" elsewhere on the internets and I liked the idea of it - use up 10 items before you can buy a new one. So why am I oversharing here? So I was at once bolstering my makeup stash with great (if technically unneeded) items AND wasting my money. Which was true! Had to look pretty for photos, right? And I wanted to make sure I didn't find a holy grail product AFTER I got married! But I also ended up hitting VIB Rouge three months into the year, and only ended up liking half of what I bought - Naked 1, love it! NARS Light Reflecting Powder, BOO. About a month later I started to become rather spendy on Sephora, and I was justifying it by telling myself I was looking for good wedding makeup. Instant inflated makeup collection! That was the start of it, anyway. Thanks for making this subreddit great!Īnyway, a couple years ago I started impulsively buying makeup thanks to Urban Decay's clearance on BOS 4 and other palettes. It's helping to keep me motivated with my own goals. First of all, I just found this subreddit recently and I LOVE reading everyone's posts.
